New Websites

We have recently launched a couple of new websites.
www.dreamtheatre.com
www.terryandersonhifi.com.au
Both are built on our VFP web platform integrating with the CNet Channel data source.
Have a look around if you get a moment.

Mere Mortals.NET Install Issue

ok well I have fixed my problem with not being able to create Mere Mortals.NET projects, so I will post about it here incase it catches anyone else out.
Here is my setup
Windows Vista Business
Visual Studio 2005 SP1 + Vista Update
Mere Mortals.NET v2.4

When you choose to create a MM project, an error is returned "project creation failed" with no further hints as to what went wrong.
When I first installed MM, I set the option for it to be available only to my user account in the install wizard. Since I am the only user of the laptop anyway.
After uninstalling MM and setting this option to Everyone on the re-install, all my problems went away.

Personal: Crazy Weather

We have been having a very eventful weekend here in Newcastle.
It all started with a coal ship grounding itself on one of our beaches, then the weather moved on to what the excited are calling cyclonic conditions.
Lots of damage has been caused, flooding, trees down, cars floating away.

Here are some of my pictures from around the area (link).
Everyone close to me is safe and well.

In other news Visual Studio 2005 made my laptop very very unhappy. There was no performance what so ever, it took hours to run the install program from SP1. It has improved after getting all the service packs on but simply is not working, fails to create projects. I run as Administrator, change file permissions on the directories I am trying to use and still no use, gives no help as to hy it failed either, just says project creation failed.
I think I might try start over. Damn Vista.

New Tech

Back at work after a long and refreshing holiday, full of new energy.
Which means it is time to start looking at some new tech.
I have spent the last day or so wrestling with Microsoft CRM 3.0 trying to get it to install. Still no luck yet, but I have a few things left to try. I saw a presentation by Adam Cogan at the Newcastle Coders Group, while not quite meeting the idea I had for it in my head, it looks worthwhile investigating further.
At the same time I am about to embark on a full exploration of Visual Studio 2005 and C# as a future development platform for Quids. Complete with a copy of Mere Mortals.NET I am bound to have a fun weekend. More on that later though.
